Jesyka Sham is a dancer and performer who have spent most of her life on stage. She received training in ballet, tap and contemporary dance, which is her favorite, and also circus skills like aerial silks, lyra, trapeze and acrobatics. She started fire dancing at the age of 11 and performs with poi, fans and double staff.
In 2007 she met Lionel Chanarin and they formed a duet called Morphire. Noteworthy performances include promotional functions for DKNY, Loreal, Woolowrths and the Design Indaba in Cape Town (2008), a performance for world leaders at the World Cup which was broadcasted on CNN (2010) and Nedbank corporate function in Namiba (2014).
Jess’s style of performance is strong and sessional and she has a commanding performance presence.
Appart from performing she works as choreographer for the Sisonke Social Circus in Stellenbosch. She works with a core group of kids from privileged and underprivileged communities alike. She received her SA colors in Karate in 2004 and Provincial colors for Brazilian Jujitsu in 2014.
